Elegy Performance at ILMEA

PEORIA, Illinois – The Quincy Concert Band (Quincy, IL) has been selected to perform at the 2017 Illinois Music Educator Association conference in Peoria. The ensemble will perform Kevin Walczyk’s Elegy For The Wall’s Unnamed, a work that pays tribute to those Vietnam Veterans who lost their lives (after the war) due to the effects of Agent Orange. The work will be conducted by Mark Duker whose father recently passed away from the effects of Agent Orange, and whose family commissioned the work from Walczyk. Duker premiered the work last March with the Quincy Concert Band and his High School Wind Ensemble at Waubonsie Valley (Aurora, IL).
